New Year Wellness

December 31st, 2009

It has been a while since we have updated our blog on our site. We at Open Circle Wellness have been busy creating wellness and health here in Indianapolis. Thank you for journeying with us in 2009 and now we look to 2010.

With the New Year comes many resolutions to do things people wish they had done in the previous year or things they have yet to accomplish in their life, or we see people setting new routines to make themselves healthy. We at Open Circle Wellness would like to encourage you to journey into wellness in 2010. Both yoga and therapeutic massage are steps in that direction. Shannon is still offering classes at Broadway United Methodist Church on Wednesdays at 6pm and she is even planning opening up a new class in the near future. Both of us are also offering our full line of massages. Getting regular massages and tuning your bodies to the path of yoga can not only make you well, but change your life. You can not only feel good, but bring peace and wholeness to the world. Now is the time to set right your patterns of wellness. So, contact us for a massage or attend one of Shannon’s yoga classes. You will not regret it.

We at Open Circle Wellness wish each of you a wonderful New Year and 2010 ahead. Come journey with us into wellness.

Namaste,

Shannon and Chad

Not Living Without

July 23rd, 2009

There has been a great deal of talk in our world lately about the economy and health care. Both Massage and Yoga have been placed in the category of “luxury” in these economic times, suggesting that these are items we can live without if we need to. I can understand this logic and know full well that there are people who struggle and must make decisions between what they can and cannot spend their money on. People are everyday choosing to live without things such as yoga and massage, less because they want to and more out of necessity.

As health and wellness practitioners it has been our experience that while economy factors into our health care decisions, preventive care and self care must not be things that we just “live without.” Taking care of ourselves is actually one of the best ways to save money on health care in the long run. The more we care for ourselves the less stress and strain we put on our bodies and therefore the less time we will spend on medications and in the doctor’s office. Both yoga and massage are not immediate curing toxins, they are healing practices that when engaged in regularly can provide noticeable changes in our sense of well being.

In the end, we would urge you to consider not living without a wellness and self care program. It will cost you more to not do yoga or receive massage than it would to skip out because of fears in the economy. If you are in need of removing things from your budget, please consider not taking out a time of care for your body and spirit. If we can help in any way by being a part of your wellness team, then we would be glad to do so. Best wishes for health and wellness on your journey.

Welcome!

May 16th, 2009

We would like to welcome you to our new website and business, Open Circle Wellness. Our dream of developing a business in wellness has been a long time coming. Now that it is here, we would like to share with you our dream. It is our sincerest hope that any person who comes to us either in a yoga class, for a massage, or wellness education, that they would come to a sense of energy and balance for their life. Most of us come from a world that is inundated with chaos, stress, overabundance of choices, and a sense of uncertainty. We certainly do not hold the misconception that we are able to fix all of these items in the lives of others, but we feel strongly that the work we do will enhance your life and offer you a new sense of self in the world. Yoga and massage itself are modalities of balance, working our energy systems and flow in such a way as to inspire happiness, peace, positive health, and wholeness. We hope that the work we do will inspire others to live healthy lives. The idea of open circle as a name came about as a concept of picturing the whole self, the open element meaning that we each are being challenged to open our entire selves up to wholeness, healing, and balance. It is our deepest desire to awaken in ourselves and others, a life of wholeness.

This being said, welcome to Open Circle Wellness. This in many ways is the beginning point of this new journey. Please take some time to look at our website, gather information, and attend a yoga class, or schedule massage. Please contact us should you have any further questions or comments. Come and join us for a journey of seeking energy and balance in our lives.

Namaste,

Chad and Shannon
